Welcome!

Cville Village is a local nonprofit formed to respond to the changing needs of elders, to support them in their homes, and to value their contributions. Our purpose is to create and sustain a network of “neighbors helping neighbors.” The Village model can transform communities and uplift individual lives.

Americans over age 65 made up almost 15% of the national population in 2015.  By 2030 the number is expected to be 20%, or about 72 million people. Boomers are changing the face of aging. Overwhelmingly, we want to “age in place.” Will existing social and health service agencies be able to adapt, or will they gradually become overwhelmed by the challenges of serving this expanding population?

Cville Village's goal is to be there before we reach this tipping point. Our volunteer services include transportation to and from appointments, shopping or events; friendly visits to those living alone, light housekeeping or yard tasks, small repairs, and help with electronic devices. When members need less-common kinds of help, we match requests to available volunteers with appropriate skills. We also will refer to trusted local tradespeople who may offer members discounted services.
